For over two decades, we have been active in several community arts scenes scattered around the country—sponsoring and producing art events, sponsoring emerging artists, musicians and art organizations, and volunteering our time and experience. Along this journey, we have worked towards understanding what is truly valuable to artists, and where we can provide the most impact moving into the future.
We recognized it was time for FlavoredLayers to establish an arts-focused nonprofit designed to expand our impact as we move into the future.
In June 2025, FlavoredLayers Art Inc. formally submitted its IRS Form 1023 application to obtain 501(c)(3) status. Once approved, this designation will allow us to grow our programs and secure new resources. We are excited to share that FlavoredLayers Art Inc. has officially formed its three-person Board of Trustees and opened a bank account with a local Utica Bank.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to New York State’s Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (VLA) for believing in our vision and supporting us in the creation and filing of our very first nonprofit — pro bono.
